Hello friends! February is on its way out and guess what?! I haven’t begun working on my novel yet 🙊. I planned on starting next month, so I’m not behind, but I’m still working on other projects which have been taking up a lot of time. I also decided to take on a joint project with a friend of mine. I have no idea how I’m going to juggle my current projects, my novel, and this new project. What was I thinking when I agreed to all this? 🤦🏽‍♀️

To keep from freaking out (Too late!) I’m reminding myself that I’m the one who sets the pace. I can change the deadlines if I want. Nothing is set in stone. As long as I do something each day (or week) to get closer to my goal, that’s all that matters. I want to have fun on this journey, not drive myself insane with unrealistic expectations, doubt, and comparison.

Last month I posted my second short story called “Second Date”. I hope those who read it enjoyed it. I have a third story coming soon titled “Wedding Date”. My friend read it and pointed out that I was rebelling and rushing 😂. The revisions are in progress. Hopefully I’ll have it up by the end of March.

Even though my stories are exercises, I want to give you the best version possible. I can’t afford to take short cuts or bail when life doesn’t allow me the time to write. Regardless of what happens or how long it takes to write a story (or novel), I want to give my best without worrying about how long it’s taking to complete my work. Life is pressure enough. I’m not adding to it. I love writing and I don’t want anything (including myself) ruining what I love.

Switching gears… Normally I blog every Tuesday, but as you’ve noticed, I haven’t posted anything this month until now. Since my plate is filling up with more projects (some involve writing and some don’t) I’m pulling back on how often I blog. I’m aiming for once a month, maybe more, depending on what I want to share.

I hope you’ll stick with me. I appreciate the views, likes, and follows I’ve received since creating my blog. You’ve never met me, but you actually want to see what I’m up to, and that’s humbling. So, thanks for hanging out with me.

Till next time. ✌🏽
